Founder & President
Vu Truong is the founder and managing member of Trustone Capital, and has over 12 years of real estate experience. He has owned and managed over millions of dollars of commercial real estate. Coming from owning and managing a large portfolio of single family, multi-family and retail properties, he brings over a decade of experience in investment analysis, real estate management, market analysis, and re-development.
Mr. Truong has created an amazing commercial real estate investing technique using his business aptitude and ingenuity to obtain a greater advantage in this industry. His true passion in Retail Shopping Centers & Multi-Family makes him a strategic investor that prides on building strong ethical values and relationships.
His primary focus is value add investments where he can drive value over a short investment horizon whether it’s Retail, Office, Industrial or Multi-Family. He is actively seeking value-add investments in the commercial real estate marketplace. His attention to detail, creative structuring and breadth of knowledge consistently supersedes expected results repeatedly for his clients.
Mr. Truong has extensive experience in analyzing and evaluating commercial properties. His research involves pinpointing investment opportunity through extensive analysis into market trends and conditions, projecting the future growth while carefully considering the company’s competitive dynamics as well as cash flow analysis. In addition, he has an extensive background in the construction platform including rehabilitation projects. Mr. Truong has valuable experience in assessing the risk involved in commercial real estate transactions from a management, financial, and mechanical perspective.

Scott Scheel serves as an Advisor for Trustone Capital. Scott is also the founder and president of Scheel Publishing. Scott is a self-educated multi-millionaire entrepreneur who in the last 25 years has bought, or partnered, on commercial properties worth in excess of $150 million. He has been featured on several radio talk shows to discuss how money works rather than how one particular investment or asset class may perform. His shows “Cashing In” and “Smart Money” were dedicated to the “no nonsense” approach of how money moves. He was a catalyst for many innovative concepts and investment alternative strategies that are now considered the “standard” in the financial services industry.
Kevin has been involved in commercial real estate for over a decade. He has personally owned and managed over $4 million of commercial real estate. Kevin has valuable experience in assessing the risk involved in commercial real estate transactions from a financial, management, and mechanical perspective.
Kevin has extensive experience in analyzing and evaluating commercial properties. This analysis involves extensive research into market trends and conditions, as well as market values and leasing rate trends, and cash flow analysis. In addition, he has an extensive background in the construction field, which includes commercial and industrial new construction as well as rehabilitation projects. He has been involved with construction management since 1995 with companies ranging from 150 to 6000+ employees.
Former Mayor of Fountain Valley, California
Michael Vo serves as an Advisor for Trustone Capital. Michael is the 23rd Mayor of Fountain Valley California and currently serving as Council Member. Michael parlayed his success in the real estate business into a successful bid for city council in 2010, becoming Fountain Valley’s first Vietnamese-American council member. His culture is a large part of his life; he began his entrepreneurial career in 1994 by opening Little Saigon Traffic School, and then Little Saigon Registration Service a year later. Michael soon expanded to life insurance services offered all in Vietnamese.
As a Mayor of Fountain Valley, Michael recognizes decreased sales tax revenue contributed to a budget deficit of more than $5 million. Michael believes this should have been avoided and will get worse. “To face problems of tomorrow, new leaders, new ideas and a fresh vision for the city. More simply, we need to restore lost sales tax revenue and control our spending.” Michael came up with a solution to this problem by building a business that provides local jobs and understands that small businesses are the economic core of a community. Michael supported the small business partners and believes that when Fountain Valley businesses succeed, the entire community succeeds.
Founder-Crown Pointe Financial Services
Micheal is a tax consultant and is a vital component for Trustone Capital. Michael has over 32 years of experience in the field of tax accounting and strategy. Mike worked for the world’s third largest accounting firm for 15 years which included tours of duty in the London, England and Los Angeles offices. He then spent 10 plus years as the Tax partner of the largest regional firm in the Midwest overseeing a tax practice of over 75 individuals.
In 2006, Michael and a group of highly professional tax strategists formed Crown Pointe Financial Services, a boutique tax firm that specializes in real estate. Mike has managed all aspects of personal taxes, as well as tax planning and compliance. He has also been heavily involved in various special tax projects which include but are not limited to mergers, acquisitions, tax audits, estate planning, and international taxation issues
Michael is on the Kent State Accounting advisory board and the board of the International Institute. He has had numerous articles published in such periodicals as the journal of Taxation. He has also spoken at numerous conferences on the topic of Real Estate Taxation, most recently at the University of Akron’s annual tax seminar. Mr. Lee graduated with honors from Kent State University.

Abe holds a B.B.A. with a focus on Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975 and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1978. Abe established his firm in 1985 and serves as in-house counsel upon future acquisition(s) and disposition(s) for Trustone Capital. He is Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law- Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Since inception 2011, Abe was named Texas Super Lawyer, Law & Politics/Texas Monthly Magazine and subsequently voted Top lawyers in H-Texas Magazine.
Vice President of Commercial Broker and Leasing Specialist with Colliers International
Chadd is an accomplished commercial real estate broker with approximately ten years of combined real estate experience ranging from a powerhouse boutique to a top-three firm. Chadd graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Construction Science, rated by U.S. News & World Report as the best commercial construction program in the nation. He is the author of several articles on the outlook of Houston’s real estate market and has been quoted in leading publications including Globe Street and Commercial Gateway. One of Chadd’s defining qualities is his unrelenting persistence and passion to deliver measurable results to the shareholders.
He is actively involved in the community, working with organizations including 1,000 Hills Ministry, Houston Food Bank and Star of Hope. Other ministry work includes a partnership with Living Water International, leading teams of twelve to Central America to provide lessons on hygiene and a fresh water source to help overcome disease and infection. Chadd’s hobbies include designing/building wood furniture, competitive motorsport racing, cycling along Houston’s Buffalo Bayou and racquetball. Chadd is called upon to reviews our deals from an acquisition stand point through a leasing perspective.
Commercial Broker with Marcus & Millichap
Since 1998, Juan Cuevas has been involved in transactions totaling over $1 billion. His 16-year career started as a residential leasing agent in New York City with New York City Apartments Inc., where he quickly became one of the firm’s top producing agents. In 2003, Mr. Cuevas relocated to Houston, Texas and switched his concentration to the financing side of real estate transactions. As a loan officer with Zeus Mortgage Ltd., Mr. Cuevas once again achieved the status of top producer in his firm. After four years of dedicated service, Mr. Cuevas was promoted to head of the Zeus Commercial Department where he was involved with financing commercial properties.

Investment and Capital Markets Advisor
Andre serves as Investment and Capital Markets advisor to Trustone Capital. Having previously served in this capacity as an Associate Director with Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation. Andre is instrumental in securing low cost capital for Trustone Capitals investment deal pipeline.
Prior to joining MMCC, Andre served as a Senior Associate with the Financial Advisory firm Duff & Phelps in their Real Estate practice group. At Duff & Phelps, Andre underwrote over $1 Billion dollars in complex real estate portfolio transactions for investment and financing purposes.
Andre is a graduate of Norfolk State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Toxicology. Andre also holds both the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) designations.
Andre is also heavily involved in the Young Leaders program offered by the Urban Land Institute.
